Ok, so nursing school has been a beast this semester. I haven't even had time to think about crafting, much less actually doing it. I'm going to try to catch up over Christmas break, but only if I pass this semester (otherwise, I'm sure I'll be pretty depressed). Prayers are greatly appreciated!! And hopefully I'll have some new creations to put on here soon. Hope all is well!!

Well friends, it's been long enough. Figured I'd better post something before they shut me down for disuse! :) A lot has happened since my last post. The appointment at Birmingham went well. I am approved to donate a kidney, just haven't decided to yet. I felt pretty certain that it was what I was supposed to do, but Keith didn't have peace about it, so I've postponed my decision. I feel that if God wants me to do it, he will not only give me peace, but also my family (especially Keith). So, with that out of the way I guess, I've had a lot of other things going on. My sister was with me last week. I really enjoyed having her family here. It's always exciting! My great grandmother passed away July 4th, so we traveled down July 5th (Keith's birthday). He didn't want to travel that day but we made a deal. He said if he could grill out with someone and have birthday cake he would drive down.. SO, Jennifer was so kind to step up to the plate. Jason grilled some awesome burgers, and Jennifer made a yummy cake (to Keith's specifications, of course!). July 6th we drove the rest of the way and attended my grandmothers visitation. It went well. After that we (Aunt Pat, James, Ben, his girlfriend, BreAnne, Keith, and myself) went and ate. Everyone was acting so goofy. It was a lot of fun! We stayed that night with Aunt Pat. The next day (7th) was the funeral. Keith and I sang Beulah Land, and my dad preached the service. We drove that evening back to Jennifer's and had another great visit. Wasn't near long enough. I wanted to spend more time with everyone. (Including BreAnne, Aunt Pat, and the rest of my family) I'm hoping we are able to make it back down for my birthday.

Wow, now that I've written a book I'll share some crafts! :) First up, I finished my lamp!!!

Next, is a new hair clip! It's so cute. Pictures do it no justice. I used some ribbon that Aunt Pat gave me. I'm hoping to get some more coordinating ribbon and do some more!

I will probably put it with a headband also. Not black, but it's all I had at the moment.

Here is the same folds of ribbon, just with a wider size. It obviously didn't turn out like I planned, so I'm looking to use it for something else. Does this look okay? I really want some feedback on it. I think it's alright, Keith says No...

Anyways, that's all for now! Hope everyone has had a great week. Hopefully I'll be able to post more often now that things have slowed down a bit.

My first orders!

Well, I've finally started receiving orders!! I'm really loving this hobby. It's not everyday that you get to make money at something you love doing. All this crafty stuff is making me more and more girly. (Keith's not complaining...he tells me I need to be quite often) I'm actually going tomorrow to have my REAL nails done for the first time. I've never been able to grow my nails long enough to have them done, until now. I guess it's because I'm not working outside and breaking them off all the time. Anyway, enough of that. On to my orders!! The first sign I made was for a lady in my church, she liked it but it clashed with her door..

She said to make the primary color red, so I made a completely different one. Here it is! Bad picture of it..it's really cute!

She also ordered this next one. She said she wanted pink and zebra stripe to be the primary colors. I'm not completely satisfied with this one, it seems that it is missing something. I may just need to start all over! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

This next sign is for a different lady in my church. She also wanted red to be the main color. She is a grandmother, so I figured some bright colors added in would be nice.

Well, that's about all of the crafts I've finished. I've made Alysa some hair clips and headbands. I'll post those pics later though.

I've got a very busy two weeks coming up. First off, Saturday- we are going to Nashville, TN. Keith's cousin is getting married. We will stay the night Saturday night and drive in Sunday. Monday (our 2 year anniversary) we will be driving to Birmingham, AL. I have an appointment at UAB Tuesday from 7-4 to see if I'm healthy enough to donate a kidney to a great friend of the family, Bro. Harvey Reeves. After the appointment, we will drive to Atlanta to visit/help some friends of ours that just had twin girls. They are a super sweet couple and we are very excited about getting to visit! Hopefully during all my travels I'll be able to keep crafting. I already have my ribbon packed so I can make flowers on the road. :)

I think that's enough for now. I'm going to try to make it to bed before 1 tonight. Goodnight all! Or good day..or whatever!! :)

A few more...

Keith's cousin is getting married June 19th, so I made them the sign on the last post. The W. I wanted to do something more, so when I received their invitation yesterday, I knew what I wanted to do! The edges are photo corners, and of course, the rest is ribbon!!

This is what I gave Amber (Keith's sister) her birthday present in. She is really into zebra print, and is wanting to eventually use it as a theme in her room. This box is just a photo box you can get from Hobby Lobby. I just wrapped a piece of ribbon around it, added a flower and piece of ribbon in the name box. Since then, I've gotten her 2 more and plan to put her upcoming gifts in those as well. I love killing 2 birds with 1 stone!!

This next thing was so fun to make! I'm making them for my niece, Alysa. I only had one alligator clip, so I was only able to make one! Many different bugs to come though!

Well, it's a brand new week. I'm hoping to hear from a hospital about a CNA job. I was really wanting to work all summer, but all my applications have been ignored I guess. I was giving the last hospital I applied at one week to contact me and that week is over, so I guess I'm going to go to plan #2. HOBBY LOBBY! It's a great place to work. Christian owned, closed on Sunday, great pay, benefits, and HELLO-it's only my new favorite place to shop. Can we say employee discount?!! I hope it works out if that's where God is wanting me.

Enough of that. I want to share my latest sign. I think I want to put this one on a white easel. Not sure yet.

I also have a new type of craft I'm working on. Samantha, my sister, will probably be my #1 customer for this one. She has a 3 year old that is about as girly as they come. (I'll share pics of Alysa and Luke later.)

So, this is what I call a headband tower. It is made with an oatmeal can and ribbon. It was super fun to make! I have needed something for my headbands for a while, but there's nothing in the stores really. This idea came to me in the middle of a sermon at church. (Don't ask!)

Below is an "upgraded" headband! The flower isn't attached yet. I'm thinking of putting a few flowers on alligator clips and making a little piece of ribbon to attach it to on the headband. It would sell as a set!

Well, that's it for now. I'll be back soon with more to share!

My First Blog!

With the inspiration from my cousin, Jennifer, I have (obviously) decided to start a blog. Mainly I am just wanting to write my ideas down and hopefully get some feedback. By the way, I like honesty..If ya don't like something-say it!! I wanna know what other people think.

I'll start by explaining how I got started in this "crafting adventure". I've always loved creative arts. I just love seeing people put their talent to work, and having something cute to show for it. Once again, Jennifer has been my inspiration for this as well-she is the crafting expert. Anyways, back on track. I wanted a sign for my front door. I saw a lot of people had them, but I wanted one a little different-customized! I wanted Joshua 24:15. So, I went to Wal-Mart and got all my supplies. Paint, brushes, ribbon, and they only had canvas boards in packs of 3. And so, the adventure began...
Well, I finished my first one, but couldn't let those other 2 boards go to waste. I then made this one.

I love the flowers! I originally just got them to make me a vase full of real looking flowers for my bathroom.

Then, for my husbands sake, I made this Ole Miss one. I don't like the ribbon it's hanging by, so I'm considering changing it out.

The others just started coming to me. I'd just be getting my supplies out, and see two colors together and it'd go from there. I've had lots of fun! I'm trying to ease out of hand painting for a little while-they don't seem to be selling. Hopefully the initials will be a big hit.

This one was for a friend at school.

There's a few not posted. All are on my facebook page though. Let me know what you think. Any ideas for changing the already finished ones, or new ideas. However, I've been informed that I can't buy any more supplies until I sell some, so be praying I can get a few sold. I have so many ideas ready to be put to use!!! Until next time, have a great one!
